Coffee and Donuts
Our goal as a ministry is to create a friendly environment and encourage fellowship among parishioners. We do this by making coffee, setting up bagels and donuts, and taking care of the social hall. We could always use more volunteers to help with this very important ministry. This ministry is led by Cathy and Andre Testa. If interested click here.
Council of Catholic Women
Divine Mercy Council of Catholic Women acts through its members to support, empower and educate our members in spirituality, leadership and service roles. We support our parish through several fund raisers through the year which enables us to donate money to the school, Saint Vincent de Paul, Divine Mercy Youth Group, Catholic Charities and other community agencies such as Genesis House, Hugs for the Homeless, and homeless veterans. Each year we are responsible for the Phantom Tea Party, Card Party and Fashion Show, and Divine Mercy Gifts. We enjoy each others company at our celebration luncheons throughout the year. The general membership meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month. Celebration birthday luncheons are held quarterly. We are always seeking out new members to assist with service to our church, community, and school. This ministry is led by Linda Molica. If interested click here.
Our goal is to provide family centric liturgy and events that are welcoming to children, the young, and young parents. We will do this by developing rosaries, Stations of the Cross, Masses, and other social events that involve participation of all members of the family. This ministry is led by Deacon Jack Alexander. Lenten Soup & Bread
During the Lenten season, Divine Mercy parishioners and their friends may gather in Social Hall on Fridays for a soup and bread supper, followed by the Stations of theCross or a spiritual formation video program. The members of this ministry group provide nourishment by cooking
and serving two different kinds of soup for approximately 100 to 120 people, while also giving people time to socialize and become family. This also provides sustenance for people on low incomes. This has been an ongoing ministry since 1984, so if you feel called to feed the body as well as the spirit, then please come and join the chefs of "Soup de Jour" during Lent. “Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.” (Hebrews 13:2)
The “Welcoming Ministers of Hospitality” committee is to “Welcome all who enter Gods House,” and to assist the Parrish staff during Mass time to meet the needs of the parishioners. WINGS (When In Need Give Support)
This ministry provides an understanding atmosphere for people who have suffered the loss of a loved one through death. The members of this group are given an opportunity to meet new people, bond with one another, and open their hearts to each other. Once a month we go out to lunch for those people having birthdays during the month. Our social events are centered around luncheons for members who don’t like to drive at night. If you have lost a loved one and need a group of compassionate people to help “lift you up on Eagles Wings,” then please contact us. This ministry is led by Margaret Crockett.
